CSSR took place at Novosibirsk State University, in the research center Akademgorodok (Academic Town), which is located in the suburbs of Novosibirsk, the third most-populated city in Russia.
Akademgorodok was founded in the late 50's in the scope of a unique experiment of creating an innovative research center in the middle of Siberia. Over 40 research institutes are located in Akademgorodok today, which makes it one of the largest scientific centers in Russia.

Headquarters or departments of 60+ IT-companies are located in Akademgorodok, many of them being residents of the Novosibirsk Technopark, one of the well-known high-tech centers in Russia.
